French Tennis player Amelie Mauresmo came out during the 1999 Australian Open. She said an interresting thing some months afterwards when she was asked how the other players on the tour had reacted when she came out.

Amelie said that most of them had reacted positively and that those who had been more negative about it maybe just were afraid Amelie would reveal something about their own sexual preference.

Singer Sinéad O'Connor came in to promote her new CD ''Faith & Courage'' and Howard wanted to talk to her about the fresh newspaper headlines that said Sinéad is a lesbian. She said she adores men and her best friends are men but she prefers to make love to women. She said she can relate to making love to them better. She also said that she's chosen not to be with anyone at this time. She's concentrating on her career right now. At one point in the interview, Howard was getting on her nerves and she said that guys like him "make you want to be with women."
